We’re looking for a compassionate, grounded clinician who values connection, authenticity, and community-based care.
In this role, you’ll:
Provide individual therapy to a diverse client population
Maintain timely and thoughtful clinical documentation
Collaborate with a supportive team of clinicians
Have the autonomy to bring your unique voice and approach into your work

Holds an active North Carolina license (LCSW, LCMHC, or LMFT)

Black Mountain Counseling Center is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to providing accessible, compassionate mental health care to our community. We are growing thoughtfully and preparing for an exciting upcoming capital campaign to expand our impact.
We are seeking a warm, organized, and creative professional who is passionate about connecting people to meaningful work.
Position Overview
This part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, telling compelling stories, and supporting fundraising efforts in a hands-on, collaborative environment.
The Development & Communications Coordinator will play a key role in donor engagement, community outreach, and sharing the story of our work—especially as we prepare for a capital campaign.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Engagement & Development Support
Maintain and update donor records in DonorPerfect
Track and acknowledge gifts in a timely and meaningful way
Assist in building and strengthening donor relationships
Support donor communications, appeals, and stewardship efforts
Supporting the Executive Director in grant research and management
Communications & Storytelling
Help tell the story of our impact through newsletters, email campaigns, and social media
Draft and edit donor communications and campaign materials
Support messaging for our upcoming capital campaign
Gather stories, testimonials, and program highlights
Community Outreach & Engagement
Assist with community partnerships and outreach efforts
Represent the organization at local events (as needed)
Help grow awareness and engagement in the community
Administrative & Campaign Support
Provide organizational support for fundraising initiatives
Assist with campaign tracking, materials, and coordination
Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and leadership team
Who You Are
A strong communicator (written and verbal)
Warm, engaging, and comfortable interacting with donors
Highly organized and detail-oriented
A self-starter who can manage projects independently
Creative and enjoys storytelling and messaging
Comfortable learning and using technology
Preferred Qualifications
1–3 years experience in nonprofit, communications, or related work
Familiarity with donor databases (DonorPerfect a plus)
Experience with email marketing and/or social media
Interest in mental health and community-based work
