FAQ

Q: How Do I Get in to See a Counselor?

Black Mountain Counseling is made up of many counselors with different areas of expertise. To begin, call our office. A member of our staff will ask you a few questions to better identify your need. You will be assigned to a counselor to you that best matches your needs. The counselor will then call you to schedule your first appointment. Generally, this process takes 24–48 hours. If you have not received a call from a counselor in 48 hours, please let us know.

Q: Who are your counselors?

We have many counselors offering a variety of services. Counselors are assigned based on availability of the client and counselor and the presented issues. We want to pair you with the best counselor to meet your needs.

Q: Can I request a counselor?

No, you are not guaranteed a specific counselor.

You can certainly request a specific counselor, but there is no guarantee that is the person that is available. It's for this reason that we don't offer more information on our counselors. If you would like to see a specific counselor, you can always give them a call at their private practices. These practices are in no way connected with or endorsed by Black Mountain Counseling Center and clients are subject to the counselor's rates and availability and discretion.

Q: What insurances do you accept?

We are in network with many insurance companies.

We see clients regardless of their ability to pay and regardless of their insurance status. Learn more about insurance coverage at the button below. If cost is an issue, please ask us about assistance programs.

Q: I don't have insurance.

No problem! We offer a Client Assistance Program.

Finances should never be a reason to skip counseling. Be open and honest with your counselor about your financial situation. Your counselor will work with you. We use a sliding scale as a suggestion of what you pay, but ultimately what you pay for your session is entirely between you and your counselor. The Administrative Assistant and the Executive Director DO NOT determine your payment.

You are responsible for being open and honest about your financial situation.

Q: What sorts of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, card, and check.
